The base is thick enough that I don't feel the firm surface underneath, and the Vixskin texture grips my toy just right so it doesn't slide around. It's honestly made a huge difference in comfort during longer sessions, and cleanup was quick since it's so smooth.
Finally, a saddle that actually stays put on my slickest toys. The Vixskin base is so plush it honestly feels like a whole new toy, and the fact it fits any ball-free dildo I own is a huge win.
The cushioning is real, and it does add some comfort for longer sessions, but it's a bit fiddly to keep in place on toys without balls. The Vixskin material feels nice, though I wish the base had more grip to stay put.
